Let's Talk HealthTech
15. Oktober 2026
11:30 - 14:00

The fourth edition of this English-language lunch session takes place on October 15, 2026 at the BioVille campus in Diepenbeek, Belgium and promises less theoretical expertise than real-life experiences, practical lessons learned and concrete examples of how startups, healthcare organizations and investors approach co-creation, ownership, IP and collaboration.
Anyone who has ever tried to collaborate with clinics knows that this often has more to do with negotiation skills than purely technical brilliance.
The panel brings together four perspectives. Innocens, a startup that originally addressed clinical challenges with neonatal sepsis, tells its own transformation story toward a broader AI and data infrastructure platform for hospitals. Brian Desplinter represents the hospital perspective from AZ Groeninge, Steven Leuridan contributes the investor viewpoint from the QBIC investment fund, and Bram Janssen speaks on IP and innovation from the law firm Arnold & Siedsma.
Co-creation in healthcare requires trusting partnerships between very different actors. Startups bring agility and technical expertise, clinics have clinical data and patient contact, investors ensure scaling possibilities. But where does joint development begin and where does self-interest end? Who owns the patents resulting from this process? How are data usage rights regulated? Which regulatory hurdles need to be considered? All these questions ultimately affect value creation throughout the entire process.
The target audience explicitly includes startups, healthcare organizations, investors, and further stakeholders in the innovation area.
