Neue Versorgungsformen gesucht!

Logo of the G-BAIn 2016, the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) received a mandate from the federal government to promote projects that go beyond the existing standard care in statutory health insurance in Germany in order to provide targeted impetus for innovation. To this end, the G-BA has set up an innovation committee to facilitate such projects using resources from the healthcare fund. This committee has published funding announcements on new forms of care, one on a specific topic and one on an open topic.

New forms of care within the meaning of this announcement go beyond the existing standard care and aim to further develop cross-sectoral care. This can be the overcoming of sectoral separation or the optimization of an intra-sectoral interface.

Topic-specific support covers the following areas:

  • Models for strengthening evidence-based care design
  • Cooperative and interprofessional care models with further developed division of tasks between different healthcare professions and service providers
  • Models for avoiding, reducing and delaying the need for care
  • New forms of care to strengthen and relieve caregivers and relatives
  • Models for improving the care of chronically ill patients with high care needs in less well-served areas
  • Optimization of interfaces and cooperation between statutory health insurance and the public health service in prevention and healthcare

If your form of care cannot be categorized in one of the subject areas, you can submit an application for open-topic funding.

Procedure

You can apply with a draft idea until May 16, 2023 and are expected to find out in the 4th quarter of 2023 whether you can submit a full application.
Funding recipients can submit their full application by May 28, 2024 and will receive funding of up to €75,000 during the concept development phase.

Further funding announcements by the Innovation Committee are planned for the second quarter of 2023 in the area of healthcare research.
