We are delighted that the members of MedLife e.V. have elected a new representative of the life science industry to the Board of Directors with their vote at the March meeting.
With Dr. Kathrin Kurtenbach, co-founder and CTO of PerAGraft GmbH, we have gained a young start-up entrepreneur who will be a valuable addition to the Executive Board from the perspective of an engineer and scientist. Kathrin Kurtenbach herself has set herself the following goal: "As a member of the MedLife Board, I would like to provide new impetus and actively work on maintaining, strengthening and expanding this valuable network." In my opinion, the Aachen MedTech and life science scene is fascinating and I am delighted to be able to further network the individual players and facilitate synergies.
The second equally enriching new addition to the Management Board is Christoph Ptock, CEO of Meotec GmbH and co-founder of Fibrothelium GmbH, with more than 10 years of entrepreneurial experience. Christoph Ptock also sees the potential for the Aachen region as a location for medical technology in NRW: "The connection to our region with regard to medical technology plays a special role for me in shaping start-ups, but also in the future development of the Aachen region as an important location for the expansion of medical technology in NRW. It is precisely this formative function that I would like to take on as a board member of MedLife e.V. and help entrepreneurs willing to found a company to developNRW as a location, also with a view to structural change, with innovative ideas, strong partners and networks".
Both bring a breath of fresh air, new skills and diverse experience to the Board, whether as young researchers, founders or entrepreneurs. Just like the re-elected and thus confirmed Board candidates: Dr. Simon Dietz (1st Chairman), GfPS mbH and Christoph Nix, Abiomed GmbH. The board is completed by the representatives of the universities, Prof. Stefan Jockenhövel (RWTH), Prof. Torsten Wagner (FH), Forschungszentrum Jülich, Dr. Stephan Küppers (FZJ) and IHK Aachen, Raphael Jonas.
