The largest national biotechnology industry meeting, the German Biotechnology Days (DBT) 2018 , will take place on 18 and 19 April in Berlin and will be organized jointly by BIO Deutschland and the BioRegions Working Group.
State Secretary Dr. Georg Schütte has already confirmed his attendance and will also award the GO-Bio grants.
The DBT are a meeting place for over 800 entrepreneurs, researchers and partners from politics, funding institutions and administration.
In plenary sessions and symposia, the conference will focus on current developments in medical and industrial biotechnology as well as modern plant research. The framework conditions for innovation and entrepreneurship in the life sciences will also be discussed. Companies also have the opportunity to introduce themselves in "Company Presentations" and the "Start-up Challenge". The project results of companies funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) are also once again part of the program:
- Improving consumer goods with the help of biotechnology
- New active ingredients against autoimmune diseases
- Start-up Challenge
- BMBF - Methods and technologies of tomorrow
- Think Big - Biomolecules on a large scale
- Laboratory of the future - digitalization and automation are changing work processes
There is also an accompanying exhibition for companies, institutes, associations and clubs.
The organizers have been holding the annual, two-day German Biotechnology Days since 2010 as a forum for the exchange of experience between all players in the German biotechnology scene. Since its inception, the event has grown continuously and has developed into the national meeting place for the biotechnology industry.
