The controller decides alone or jointly with others on the purposes and means of processing personal data (e.g. names, contact details, etc.).
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Some data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time. An informal notification by e-mail is sufficient for the revocation. The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
As the data subject, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in the event of a breach of data protection law. The competent supervisory authority for data protection issues is the data protection officer of the federal state in which our company is headquartered. The following link provides a list of data protection officers and their contact details: https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Infothek/Anschriften_Links/anschriften_links-node.html.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfillment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party. The data will be provided in a machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.
Right to information, correction, blocking, deletion
You have the right to free information about your stored personal data, the origin of the data, its recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data at any time within the framework of the applicable legal provisions. You can contact us at any time using the contact options listed in the legal notice if you have any further questions on the subject of personal data.
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content that you send to us as the site operator, our website uses SSL or TLS encryption. This means that data that you transmit via this website cannot be read by third parties. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the "https://" address line of your browser and the lock symbol in the browser line.
Server log files
The website provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically transmits to us in server log files. These are
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Host name of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.
Registration on this website
You can register on our website to use certain functions. The data transmitted is used exclusively for the purpose of using the respective offer or service. Mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise we will refuse registration.
In the event of important changes, for example for technical reasons, we will inform you by e-mail. The e-mail will be sent to the address provided during registration.
The processing of the data entered during registration is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time. An informal notification by e-mail is sufficient for the revocation. The legality of the data processing that has already taken place remains unaffected by the revocation.
We store the data collected during registration for the period that you are registered on our website. Your data will be deleted if you cancel your registration. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies. These are small text files that your web browser stores on your end device. Cookies help us to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure.
Some cookies are "session cookies". Such cookies are deleted automatically at the end of your browser session. Other cookies, on the other hand, remain on your device until you delete them yourself. Such cookies help us to recognize you when you return to our website.
With a modern web browser, you can monitor, restrict or prevent the setting of cookies. Many web browsers can be configured so that cookies are deleted automatically when the program is closed. Deactivating cookies may result in limited functionality of our website.
The setting of cookies, which are necessary for the performance of electronic communication processes or the provision of certain functions desired by you (e.g. shopping cart), takes place on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technically error-free and smooth provision of our services. If other cookies are set (e.g. for analysis functions), these are treated separately in this privacy policy.
WP Statistics
This website uses the WordPress analysis plugin WP Statistics. The provider of this plugin is wp-statistics.com. Simple statistics are created from the data in anonymized form. No user profiles are created for this purpose and no cookies are set. All data collected by WP Statistics is stored completely anonymously on this web server. It is therefore not possible to personally identify a visitor, even retrospectively. The analysis takes place purely locally on the server located in Germany on which this website is hosted.
Contact form
Data submitted via the contact form, including your contact details, will be stored in order to process your request or to be available for follow-up questions. This data will not be passed on without your consent.
The data entered in the contact form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time. An informal notification by e-mail is sufficient for revocation. The legality of the data processing operations carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Data transmitted via the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or there is no longer any need to store the data. Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.
Newsletter data
To send you our newsletter, we need an e-mail address from you. Verification of the e-mail address provided is necessary and you must consent to receiving the newsletter. Additional data is not collected or is voluntary. The data is used exclusively for sending the newsletter.
The data provided when registering for the newsletter will be processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time. To withdraw your consent, simply send us an informal email or unsubscribe via the "Unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
Data entered to set up the subscription will be deleted if you unsubscribe. If this data has been transmitted to us for other purposes and elsewhere, it will remain with us.
Use of the mailing service provider "MailChimp"
The newsletter is sent via "MailChimp", a newsletter mailing platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in this notice, are stored on MailChimp's servers in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and analyze the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, MailChimp may, according to its own information, use this data to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimization of the dispatch and presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes in order to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass it on to third parties.
We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement "Privacy Shield" and thus undertakes to comply with EU data protection regulations. Furthermore, we have concluded a "Data Processing Agreement" with MailChimp. This is a contract in which MailChimp undertakes to protect the data of our users, to process it on our behalf in accordance with its data protection regulations and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties. You can view MailChimp's privacy policy here.
Statistical collection and analysis
The newsletters contain a so-called "web-beacon", i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. As part of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval, is initially collected. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times.
The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our intention nor that of MailChimp to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.
Photographic documentation of events
Purpose of processing:
We take the photos for the purpose of documenting the event and for the purpose of promoting future events.
Legal basis for processing and balancing of interests:
The legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f) GDPR to achieve the aforementioned purposes. In the case of an event by invitation, guests and those involved in the event regularly expect documentation to take place in the form of photographs. The data subject must also expect the photos to be used internally, including the expectation that the photos will subsequently be published to advertise similar events in the form of flyers and on the website.
Categories of recipients:
Possible recipients of the data are the association members of MedLife e.V. as well as persons and companies who are interested in membership (in particular in the context of annual reports of the association) as well as possible visitors to future events of those responsible, who are to be made aware of new events in the context of advertising flyers and Internet advertising.
Duration of storage:
We delete personal data after storage is no longer required to safeguard legitimate interests and no statutory retention obligations (e.g. Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code, Section 257 of the German Commercial Code) prevent deletion.
RIGHT TO OBJECT
AS WE BASE THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON THE BALANCING OF INTERESTS PURSUANT TO ART. 6 ABS. 1 LIT. F GDPR, YOU MAY OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING. WHEN EXERCISING SUCH AN OBJECTION, WE ASK YOU TO EXPLAIN THE REASONS WHY WE SHOULD NOT PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA AS WE HAVE DONE. IN THE EVENT OF YOUR JUSTIFIED OBJECTION, WE WILL EXAMINE THE SITUATION AND EITHER DISCONTINUE OR ADAPT THE DATA PROCESSING OR POINT OUT TO YOU OUR COMPELLING REASONS WORTHY OF PROTECTION ON THE BASIS OF WHICH WE WILL CONTINUE THE PROCESSING.
An objection to data processing has no effect on your right to participate in the event.
Other rights of data subjects:
You also have the following rights vis-à-vis us with regard to your personal data:
Right of access pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR,
Right to rectification or erasure pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR or Art. 17 GDPR,
Right to restriction of processing pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR,
Right to data portability pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR,
Right to object to processing pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, P.O. Box 20 04 44, 40102 Düsseldorf.
